Club Details: Exeter Chiefs
From beginnings in 1871-72, the first recorded match was against the training college on 26th October 1873 which Exeter won.
The original team strip of white with a broad black chest band was replaced after a monumental loss to a visiting New Zealand All Blacks team in 1905. Following the game Exeter changed the team strip to all black.
This strip continued until the recent addition of Cambridge Blue as Exeter re-launched the Club as The Exeter Chiefs.
Exeter Chiefs won promotion to the Aviva Premiership in the 2009-10 season.
