Club Details: Bradford Bulls
Bradford Rugby Club was formed in 1863. In 1907, Bradford abandoned the 13 a side Northern Rugby Union game, instead becoming a soccer club, Bradford Park Avenue. A new team was created to take their place in the Northern Union - Bradford Northern.
In 1922 the Northern Union changed its name to Rugby Football League. In 1933 work began on the ground at Odsal Top for the new stadium, playing their first game on September 1st 1934. In 1963 the club collapsed due to poor support, but re-emerged the following year. In 1973/74 Bradford win the Second Division Championship and promotion to the First Division.
They changed their name to Bradford Bulls in the 95/96 season, and are placed in the new division as the Super League is formed. In 1997 Bradford won the Super League title with a record run of 20 successive victories. In 2000 Bradford won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 51 years, beating Leeds Rhinos 24-18.
In 2002 Bradford became World Club Champions after beating Australian Premiers Newcastle Knights 41-26.
2003 was the most successful season ever for the Club, winning all three major titles.
2007 sees the Bradford Bulls celebrating their centenary, it is exactly 100 years since Bradford Northern was first formed.
